i weighed my tongue
against my eye. thick tongue,
long eye.
my heart broke the scale.
i thrust my finger and thumb
into my eye and plucked out
the seed of the iris.
i planted it in my heart.
the iris crystallized into sapphire
and fell apart, encrusting my ribcage
with gems. long tongue,
heavy heart.
the scale broke my heart.

I like the horoscope motif. It adds a bit of intrigue. Your stuff is incredible. I want to see you send it to various poetry professors or creative writing professors around town.
